The Dos and Don’ts of Inclusive Design
Loulette Bride gowns are created with EVERY body in mind. From sketch to fabric selection to finished garment, each and every gown is designed to fit and flatter every curve, on any skin tone.
Each of our styles are designed to flatter a woman’s body in all the right places: highlight our waist, support the boobies, camouflage the “problem areas” we ALL feel self conscious about. You know what they are, because they are literally universal womanly concerns: the pooch (aka our organs) and the armpit boob (aka our skin).
That’s why we have some design Dos and Don’ts we live by:
DO play with fabulous textures and incredible fabrics that support the bust, camouflage any “problem areas,” drape gorgeously, and flow like the breeze.
DON’T use crunchy crinolines, stiff satins, or shiny fabrics that highlight lumps and bumps.
DO add pockets in any gown that can have a pocket.
DO make sure every gown can fit and flatter.
That means we DON’T make any gowns that would require shape wear, duct tape, stupid illusion tulle, or tricky snaps and hooks and shit.
DO make sure every gown is comfortable.
We DON’T use boning that pokes your boobs, crinoline that crunches when you walk, and we DON’T make strapless gowns.
DO use off-whites, ivories, champagnes, and even colors that flatter every skin tone.
And Finally: DO offer customizations. And DON’T charge crazy fees for them.
No gown can be a one size fits all. That’s why you work with me (Marteal! The designer! Hi!) when you come in to play dress up, so we can talk about how we can make your gown perfect for you.
Come in and play dress up with me anytime! I can’t wait to meet you, and find you a gown that makes you look and feel like the Queen you are!
