Fall in Love with Sustainable Fashion

Nothing tops the feeling on browsing through your favorite store and leaving with an awesome new buy, or finally clicking "PURCHASE" on that item you've been eyeing and saving for all season. But, thinking about where those items come from, and how and where and by whom they are made, can take a bit of the fun out of it.

The fashion industry is one of the biggest contributors to pollution and waste on our planet. Here at Loulette, we do everything we can to make each garment with responsibility and integrity. So, how do we do it?

For one, when the garments aren't being made right here in our Brooklyn studio, they are being made by a family-owned sample room in the New York Garment District. By making everything locally, we can control every step of the process, and can be sure our garments and labor are of the highest quality.

Another huge problem in the fashion industry is the amount of waste it generates, especially when it comes to fabrics. We try our best to use natural fabrics like organic, natural, and silk, and we recycle all our fabric scraps and send them to Fabscrap, where they recycle fabric scraps and reuse them in fillers for things like carpets and furniture lining.

We also are able to avoid overproduction, another enormous fault of the garment industry. Each of our gowns are made to order, which mean we only produce what is purchased.

It's not only our mission to make sure that you look and feel your best on your big day, but also that you walk down the aisle knowing that your dress was made with love, care and consideration for the environment.
