Loulette's Local Loves

Marteal here, designer and owner of Loulette Bride! I am also a New York native, Mable's momma, Brooklyn resident, perfect wife (IMO), and a former Brooklyn bride myself!

All our Brooklyn brides love to ask us who we recommend from the local wedding scene, and to be honest, we know some pretty cool and talented people. So, consider the list below as some of the best talent you can find to make your wedding day all sorts of wonderful.

Wedding Dresses

Loulette Bride | Duh.

Photography

KM Photography | Photographer Kris is one of the kindest souls you will meet, and will make you feel like you've been friends your whole life. Her style is totally fun, candid, and quick, so she captures every little real moment in real time. She shoots all our Loulette campaigns, so you know we love her!

Love & Wolves Co. | A husband/wife due (She is the beauty guru of Love & Wolves Beauty!) who have a true passion for their work. Their style is badass, effortless, cool, and candid.

Chellise Michael Photography | Another husband/wife team who will make you laugh and feel totally at ease in front of the camera.

BLK Chai Photography | Photographer Kim is one sweet and talented momma! She is so easy to work with, will make you feel totally relaxed, and capture some serious magic.

Florals

Rosewood Floral Co. | Florist Alisa maintains an element of natural beauty in her work, so everything she does has a total effortlessness about it.

Fox Fodder Farm | The OG indie florist, and a former studiomate of Loulette Bride! Florist/botanical genius Taylor's work is a little whimsical, a little experimental, and totally badass and beautiful.

NYC Plant Rental | Literally and Figuratively your greenest option: rent your greenery! NYC Plant Rental will deliver giant potted palms and lush jungle vibes to your venue, and it will save you a pretty penny as well. (I used them for my own wedding!)

Framed Florals | What to do after you've dropped a couple grand on flowers? Don't toss them! Artist and Loulette Bride studiomate Lacie will preserve and press your flowers, and turn them into a modern work of art and a perfectly subtle wedding keepsake.

Catering

Oak & Honey Catering | Chef and owner Zach creates beautiful and colorful dishes using fresh, seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. He is also a total stud and perfect human and I married him a couple years back, so I have been spoiled with his delicious food for so long that I have forgotten how to turn our stove on. Bias aside, Oak & Honey is a perfect option for those who want a focus on a gorgeous, shared meal.

Little Pheasant | If you have any question about Pheasant, check out their namesake restaurant in Williamsburg. The food speaks for itself: perfectly balanced, creative, and friggin' delicious. Run by a husband and wife team, they will work with you to create a perfect meal for you and your guests.

Poppy's | The Poppy's team has got this thing down. They specialize in family style meals using super seasonal ingredients, and create one of the most gorgeous farm stand style, cocktail hour grazing boards you'll ever see. (I used them for our wedding, too!)

Venues

Gather Greene | This new, open air venue in upstate New York was created by designers so it is absolutely stunning. Also, there are 17 perfect tiny cabins on site!

501 Union | An Art Deco inspired venue, that perfectly balances low-key Brooklyn attitude with an elegant Black Tie affair. Looking for a more rustic vibe? Their sister property The Green Building is right across the street and equally awesome.

Glasserie | A chic Mediterranean restaurant in a converted old factory building, in the quiet, industrial tip of Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Dinner party perfect!

Rentals

The Bayith | Sustainably and responsibly made linens in the perfect colors, crafted right here in Brooklyn. Designer and owner Catherine can even embroider yours guests names on the napkins to create a wedding favor that doubles as the seating assignments!

Event Styling and Planning

Brita Olsen Creative | Brita, another former Loulette Bride studiomate, combines her extreme detail-oriented and organized self with her incredible craftiness to be the planner that can do it all. You can trust her to keep everyone on their toes and everything look' perfect! (She handled my wedding too!)

Together Events | Justine is someone who has truly found her calling in celebrating love, and she makes the journey and the event colorful, fun, and totally stress free.

Timothy Westbrook Events | One of the sweetest souls you will meet, Timothy will anticipate your every need and go above and beyond.

Accessories

Emma Katzka | A perfect balance of bohemian and glamorous accessories that will be the perfect finishing touch to your Loulette Gown, and also an amazing bridesmaids gifts!

Wayfarer Bride | A collection of colorful hand dyed veils and boho crowns, made right here in Brooklyn.

Paper Goods

Suite Paperie | Designer Becca is a true artist, and will incorporate hand drawn details into your invitations, signage, and paper goods. Not to mention she's just an awesome human and you'll want to be best friends.

Nancy Moy Calligraphy | Need some gorgeous hand-lettering? Nancy is your girl!

Moo | DIY? Moo prints amazing quality goods and has a gorgeous array of designs to choose from, or you can upload your own artwork if you've got some Photoshop skills up your sleeve!

Bridesmaids Dresses

Mix it up! | Give your girls a color palette, a theme, a Pantone number, whatever, and let them find their own gown. It always looks cool, modern, and allows your girls to be themselves.

Vintage | My favorite part of planning my own wedding was probably sourcing all my girl's bridesmaids dresses, because vintage treasure hunting is literally my favorite thing to do. If you've got it in you, search for designer dresses at vintage stores, Tradesy, Poshmark, whatever, and have some fun styling your crew!

Shoes

Loeffler Randall | Personally, I want every single shoe on this site. But for your wedding day, I always suggest their wider heel in a mid-height, which will be perfectly comfortable and all-floor-proof (cobblestone, grass, uneven wood floors, you're good!). Good luck only buying one pair of shoes.
