Your Guide to Bridal Silhouettes

Nailing down your bridal silhouette can be super helpful for picking out what you’ll wear for the big day! Our silhouette guide below will talk you through the differences in dress shapes so you can decide which is best for you.

The A-Line

The A-Line gown is a great silhouette for comfort and elegance. It’s a classic shape and super flattering on all bodies. This skirt can vary slightly overall volume, depending on cut and fabric. A few of our Loulette styles like the Evelynand Taryn are examples of slimmer A-Lines, while our Jordan and Stevie are a couple of fuller options.

The Sheath

The Sheath silhouette is our semi-fitted option. This skirt shape holds onto your hips and then falls straight down to the floor, sometimes also referred to as a column skirt. It’s a great way to go for showing off your shape while allowing plenty of movement.

A few of our Sheath styles include the Samara skirt separate, the Joni, and the Aliyah.

Fit & Flare

The Fit & Flare is our most fitted silhouette, made for brides who want to make sure their gorgeous shape isn’t lost in too much fabric. This skirt hugs your hips like the Sheath style does, then continues holding on toward your upper thigh to really accentuate an hourglass shape while allowing plenty of leg room for dancing! Our Paloma and Rivera gowns are two beautiful Fit & Flare options.

Jumpsuit and Pants

For our non-traditional babes! Our Kenza pant or either of our jumpsuits, Janisand Bowie, are perfect skirt-less looks for your wedding day. Our pant can be paired with a top separate or bodysuit, so you can mix and match your look. The jumpsuits can be made with a straight leg or wide leg, with several fabric options- come in the studio to explore!

Once you’ve picked your perfect silhouette, you can direct your attention to other elements- such as neckline, back details, fabric, and more!

We can’t wait to make your dress (or jumpsuit) dreams come true.
