Alterations
Unlike other bridal shops that send you off to do alterations on your own, we work with you throughout to make sure you leave with a garment that fits you perfectly.
Here’s how it works:
WOOHOO! You found your Loulette gown, now comes the fun part! We make everything here in our Brooklyn studio so you will come back in to us for all your fittings - this is the part where we fit your gown PERFECTLY to your body.
It is so important to us that our brides feel comfortable and confident throughout the fitting process. So, three months before your wedding, we have you come back in to do your first fitting, making any adjustments needed for a flat rate! Remember, this initial appointment is just about refining the gown's foundation, and you work with our designer Marteal and master tailor Sanaa to achieve your perfect fit and desired look.
Then, you come in one more time to try it on a month before your wedding. Usually, everything is perfect by your second fitting, because we are really good at our jobs! But, if there is anything more to adjust, we’ll get it done for you!
And that’s it!
Alterations FAQs
1. Do I need my shoes for my alterations? YES!!!! Don't forget to bring the shoes to both fittings! We mark the hem during the first fitting, and having your shoes will help us achieve the perfect length and mark the bustle. Avoid scheduling a third fitting by going shoe shopping beforehand! 2. Do I need special undergarments?
Only if you want! Feel free to bring any undergarments you intend to wear on your wedding day. This will allow us to ensure they work seamlessly with the gown during the fitting.
3. Is there a guest limit?
YES! You are welcome to bring up to two guests along for the appointment. However, to ensure our full attention on getting the gown's fit just right, we kindly request that the number of guests is limited.
4. Can I accessorize at Loulette?
For sure!!! During your appointment, you'll have the chance to try on a variety of accessories and veils with your gown! We have an incredible collection right in our studio! If you already have some specific options in mind, feel free to bring them along as well!
Truly, the best part of the alterations process is getting to hang out with our incredible brides and their families for a couple more appointments!
