Love in the Time of Corona

Wow. Since we last posted a Loulette Love Letter, the world was a different place. We have all drastically changed our lifestyle, and have been living in sweatpants for the past month and a half. We miss our brides, our friends, our families, and we have been rescheduling appointments and wedding dates month after month.

And while there are an obvious thousand number of things to be disappointed in, Love in the Time of Corona has shown us so many silver linings. Here are our favorites, and how we’ve been trying to keep things positive and help as much as we can here at Loulette:

Impromptu and Intimate Weddings!

“I said, ‘will you marry me tonight?!’”

After their 100 person Williamsburg wedding in April became an impossibility, Susannah and her man, and their closest friends and family met in Carroll Park for an intimate ceremony. Her uncle, who is a judge, performed the ceremony. Susannah did her own hair and makeup, and a sweet stranger took photos for them.

“We are having the New York wedding we never would have had.”

Shyna and Pat have been planning their Ireland destination wedding for over a year. Now rescheduled for a year from now, Shyna and Pat are celebrating their love in the city they have built their lives together: New York City! Court house, a little white dress, their closest family and friends, and an intimate dinner party.

“At the end of the day, all of the future’s unknowns are a little less scary with this man by my side.”

Jules and Lex rescheduled their March 28th wedding in Nashville for later this year. Before the courthouse closed, they got dressed up, grabbed some flowers, and tied the knot.

Home Wedding Package!

Your wedding may be cancelled, postponed, or TBD until further notice, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get married. Since New York State has issued an order to allow video conference weddings at home, we want to do what we can to make your at-home wedding as special as it deserves to be.

With our Home Wedding Package, you will receive:

  • Your choice of Loulette Bride Wedding Dress, to be rented for one day

  • One pair of white Loulette Lingerie panties, yours to keep

  • An original and personalized sketch of you in your rented gown

  • A bottle of Champagne

  • A Wedding Cake, baked with love by Oak & Honey Catering

  • A bouquet

We have made and donated over 300 masks and 150 surgical caps and counting!

As soon as we learned of the unthinkable shortage of PPE (personal protective equipment) facing our city (and entire country), we sprung into action. We have used leftover cotton muslin and other useable, breathable materials to sew medical masks and surgical caps, all completely free and for donation only!

We have been working with an incredible organization @Masks4Medical, which has been collecting and distributing equipment to facilities in need. This week, we were their highest individual contributor of fabric masks. So, that felt pretty cool.

Loulette Lingerie COVID-19 Relief Sale!

So many of our amazing friends and followers have offered to donate to us as we make masks and surgical caps for @masks4medicine. While that is above and beyond generous, we are making and donating everything for free.

So, instead of taking donations, we have launched a Loulette Bride + Lingerie Sale! 50% of proceeds will be donated to NYC Health + Hospital Systems, and the rest will help to keep us afloat while we remain closed during this crisis. Each order will also come with a free facemask, handmade by us in our studio!

Thank you for your continued support, especially in this wild time. Stay safe, and we can’t wait to see you soon!
